Sooke BC Jeweller

Sometime before 1990, Jake Grant began to craft jewellery forms with silver wire, utilizing quartz points and tumbled stones. Moving to Vancouver Island in 1995 with his young family, he started to market the works at craft shows, studio tours, and through galleries. Having learned to carve original models that are cast, soldering and simple stone setting rings, bracelets and other forms emerged. Mainly it was hand fabricating that was the inspiration to proceed into more aspects of producing fine jewellery.

In March of 2005 this artisan jeweller opened an independent retail shop in the heart of Sooke, B.C. His designs have evolved into some very well crafted, truly original "West-coast" style forms. In 2008 Jake Grant won the "best in jewellery" category at the Sooke Fine Arts Show, which was public recognition of his mainly self-taught innovative jewellery designs.

Jake Grant feels that creative work is, and will continue to be, an interesting and rewarding career.
